Happy Hour

Mother, Mother Ocean

Mother, Mother Ocean, I've heard you call
Wanted to sail upon your waters since I was three feet tall
You've seen it all, you've seen it all
Watched the men who rode you, switch from sails to steam
In your belly you hold the treasures, few have ever seen
Most of 'em dream, most of 'em dream
Yes, I am a pirate, two hundred year's too late
The cannons don't thunder, there's nothin' to plunder
I'm an over-forty victim of fate
Arriving too late, arriving too late

John Yoo in Praise of President Obama
From Wizbang. Gotta read this one. Really. You do.

Death Panels. What Death Panels?

Wendy Sullivan at Girl on The Right has a recurring thing with this title. It exposes the socialized system in Canada on a regular basis. This is the crap that obamacare is eventually intended to become.
The man lost his life due to the system. Period. No other answer is there other than negligent homicide. I should hope the family sues at a minimum and attempts to lay charges against the author and the MPs who voted it in.
Girl on The Right and the Death Panels
Go and read it. Then send it to friends. It is what oblunder and company want for this country. And it must be stopped.

Obama Admin wants to TAX AMERICANS BY THE MILE!

The shitbird and his interior and transportation lackeys are at it again. I don't know about the rest of you but this shit by the administration and cabinet has got to stop. I am all in favor of a general strike in DC. Shut the place down completely. Block access to the airports, train stations and the roads. Not hard at all. Then put a ring around the capitol building. Use tractors, combines, construction trucks and the like. Then take the valve cores from all the tires on all the limos. Flatten the tires then they are stuck. This needs to be done to all members of congress, Republican and Democrat both. This is a direct threat to the very security and sovereignty of The Republic.
Email, call and snail mail your congresscritters in both houses. McCarthy and the two "ladies" I have are about to get an earful. Rhetorically speaking, of course.

It deals with personal freedoms, like driving and the idea of taxing the miles we drive. I am with the idea that if this comes to fruition, and I purchase a new vehicle, the electronics for it will be removed. In my garage and sent directly to the speaker of the house.

The Congressional Budget Office (CBO) this week released a report that said taxing people based on how many miles they drive is a possible option for raising new revenues and that these taxes could be used to offset the costs of highway maintenance at a time when federal funds are short.

The report discussed the proposal in great detail, including the development of technology that would allow total vehicle miles traveled (VMT) to be tracked, reported and taxed, as well as the pros and cons of mandating the installation of this technology in all vehicles.

“In the past, the efficiency costs of implementing a system of VMT charges — particularly the costs of users’ time for slowing and queuing at tollbooths — would clearly have outweighed the potential benefits from more efficient use of highway capacity,” CBO wrote. “Now, electronic metering and billing are making per-mile charges a practical option.”

Islam's "rich heritage" in US History?

Barack Obama, during his Cairo speech, said: "I know, too, that Islam has always been a part of America 's story."

Dear Mr. Obama:

Were those Muslims that were in America when the Pilgrims first landed? Funny, I thought they were Native American Indians.

Were those Muslims that celebrated the first Thanksgiving day? Sorry again, those were Pilgrims and Native American Indians.

Can you show me one Muslim signature on the United States Constitution?

Declaration of Independence ?

Bill of Rights?

Didn't think so.

Did Muslims fight for this country's freedom from England ? No.

Did Muslims fight during the Civil War to free the slaves in America ? No, they did not. In fact, Muslims to this day are still the largest traffickers in human slavery. Your own half brother, a devout Muslim, still advocates slavery himself, even though Muslims of Arabic descent refer to black Muslims as "pug nosed slaves." Says a lot of what the Muslim world really thinks of your family's "rich Islamic heritage," doesn't it Mr. Obama?

Where were Muslims during the Civil Rights era of this country? Not present.

There are no pictures or media accounts of Muslims walking side by side with Martin Luther King, Jr. or helping to advance the cause of Civil Rights.

Where were Muslims during this country's Woman's Suffrage era? Again, not present. In fact, devout Muslims demand that women are subservient to men in the Islamic culture. So much so, that often they are beaten for not wearing the
'hajib' or for talking to a man who is not a direct family member or their husband. Yep, the Muslims are all for women's rights, aren't they?

Where were Muslims during World War II? They were aligned with Adolf Hitler. The Muslim grand mufti himself met with Adolf Hitler, reviewed the troops and accepted support from the Nazi's in killing Jews.

Finally, Mr. Obama, where were Muslims on Sept. 11th, 2001? If they weren't flying planes into the World Trade Center , the Pentagon or a field in Pennsylvania killing nearly 3,000 people on our own soil, they were rejoicing in the Middle East . No one can dispute the pictures shown from all parts of the Muslim world celebrating on CNN, Fox News, MSNBC and other cable news networks that day. Strangely, the very "moderate" Muslims who's asses you bent over backwards to kiss in Cairo , Egypt on June 4th were stone cold silent post 9-11. To many Americans, their silence has meant approval
for the acts of that day.

And THAT, Mr. Obama, is the "rich heritage" Muslims have here in America .

Oh, I'm sorry, I forgot to mention the Barbary Pirates. They were Muslim.

And now we can add November 5, 2009 - the slaughter of American soldiers at Fort Hood by a Muslim major who is a doctor and a psychiatrist who was supposed to be counseling soldiers returning from battle in Iraq and Afghanistan .

That, Mr. Obama, contrary to your twisted, racist version, is the "Muslim heritage" in America!
By: Jerry L Keller

The major media ignores death threats to Wisconsin Republicans
I guess this is "not news" to the likes of ABC, NBC, CBS, NPR and the newspaper of record.

The Good Ship Kitty Hawk

Swiped from Wikipedia. This is the entry on the Good Ship Kitty Hawk that gives a brief description of my last deployment. Yup. Twenty four years ago.

Kitty Hawk bid farewell to San Diego on 3 January 1987, as the ship departed her homeport of 25 years and set out on a six-month world cruise. During the circumnavigation, Kitty Hawk and CVW-9 again showed their commitment to safety by conducting a third fatality-free deployment. Kitty Hawk spent 106 consecutive days on station in the Indian Ocean and was again awarded the Navy Expeditionary Medal and the Meritorious Unit Commendation for its service. The world cruise ended at the Philadelphia Naval Shipyard on 3 July. Six months later, Kitty Hawk began a Service Life Extension Program (SLEP) overhaul. Kitty Hawk emerged from the yards on 2 August 1990. The overhaul was estimated to have added 20 years of service to the ship. The Aircraft Intermediate Maintenance Department was also awarded the Air Forces, US Pacific Fleet Departmental Excellence Award, the Black "E" for this deployment.
