ER Visit
I left work last night early. My diverticulitis flared up on me. Pain.
I initially went to the Urgent Care in Lancaster. They had to refer me to the ER at either Antelope Valley Hospital in Lancaster or Palmdale Regional Medical Center down the 14. I elected Palmdale as the hospital in Lancaster has, issues, shall we say.
I arrived at about 0030 hours and waited after check in. I finally was called into the exam area and got the gown and an EKG..................................................waited................................waited.
Did I mention I waited?
It was around three hours before I got a CT Scan.........................................
Then the there was the blood draw at almost 0500................................Yep. Backwards.
The belly hurt the entire time............................
Labs normal
No one told me how the scan was
It all began with wanting an appointment at the VA Clinic in Lancaster with my doc. Instant hold and the nurse answered..........................
Tell nurse what was wrong and wait for a call back
Call back when I was on a jet...................
I explain to these people that I am out of touch except for voice mail after 1400
Antibiotics................................one week and no beer......................................
I got home at 0800 this morning.......................I crashed about 1000. I had been up about 25 hours. I called the supervisor and told him I would not be in tonight. Tomorrow is a wait and see thing.
Buck was right about one thing. Gettin old ain't for sissies.................................

What are they building? Old Olympia brewery coming back to life(plus a bit of a rant)
A friend of mine had this little ditty on her Facebook page....................
As an old Pacific Northwest Navy Hand, it does warm my heart.
We had two flavours back in those halcyon days......................Olympia and Rainier....................
Both left us in recent years. I was working my ballast train along the Columbia Gorge in Washington State a few years ago, staying in The Dalles, Oregon. The Fred Meyer had the Rainier. Olympia was shut down by the parent Miller/Coors in 2003. The Rainier was brewed in Irwindale, California.................let that sink in.............................Irwindale, California................
But enough ranting.............................

The Sterling "Affair"
My 2 cents is more eloquently explained by Colonel West.
In my view he is entitled to his opinion and beliefs. This is a transgression of individual liberty. What Mr. Sterling said was reprehensible, no doubt in that case. If he was recorded without his consent, that is against the law in California.
I do not follow the NBA at all so the only thing I have of interest in this is in the manner in which the Vigilance Committees flew in to action.
Personally I hope that Mr. Sterling sues the league.

Weather related aches and pains
The weather took a turn yesterday and I am now feeling it.
There was a front that came through over the Tehachapi and Southern Sierras. We had rain and cold wind come in. At least I got my jet's preflight done along with the canopy clean and polish before the rain hit the line.
I have aches in all of my leg joints, the arthritis in the shoulders said Good Morning and my sinuses are full of crud thanks to all the blowing dust and sand before the rain.
The High Wind "Advisory" is still in effect until Monday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I think Blog Bud Buck has it spot on with "Gettin Old Ain't For Sissies!"

US Troops Fed Up With Insane Rules of Engagement
This was up at the site of Victoria Jackson.............as in Saturday Night Live when it was good Victoria Jackson. So, I guess one should take this with a grain of salt as it were.
That being said, to me it is a well done piece. Remember this is from a lay person considering the subject. I think a unique and different perspective is necessary from time to time.

Regardless of how one feels about the War in Afghanistan or even Iraq, the ability of the ground forces to pursue the mission without hindrance of stupid rules is paramount.
I understand that we are "The Good Guys" and must be professional at all levels. But when engaged with a determined and tough adversary, the ability to fight unfettered is a necessity.

Low information Elected Tormentors like Hank Johnson - the man who worries that the island of Guam will capsize, if Uncle Sam increases the number of troops deployed there - REALLY needs to know these reality bytes.
Anyone whose only source of 'just the facts' is the MSM needs to know these reality bytes.
Anyone who drinks the Kool-Aid served by the two major political parties needs to know these reality bytes.
The politically-motivated, whopper spewing, MSM bitches and bastards who think we were born yesterday need to be hammered with these reality bytes.
The activists who tweak reality to promote their particular agenda need to know these reality bytes.
Let's face it, everyone needs to know these reality bytes, especially rational adults who are in mortal danger of drowning in an unrelenting blizzard of bullshit.
Fundamental elements of objective reality don't change, but they do fall out of favor and are relegated to inconvenient truth status. Put another way, A is, always was, always will be A. BUT, depending on the prevailing political environment, asshats will promote their A is B brain fart with compelling conviction.

• The Nanny State only gets money from two places. The can print it, making the money in your pocket worth less. Or, they can steal it from some hard working fool - like you, Sparky - and give it to those chronically-needy parasite.
• If you think for a nano-second the Nanny State gives a rip about you - or the children - by enforcing seat belt, motorcycle helmet, smoking and transfat laws, think again. Big Brother/Big Sister are way too busy rewriting the Constitution, catering to special interests and lobbyists, on top of conspiring to separate you from your money and freedom.
• Korrectniks are, by their very nature, humor-challenged asshats who use the Nanny State's monopoly on the use of force to coerce the 'proper' behavior from you. • If you tolerate an evil, it gets stronger. This was driven home, with telling clarity when rational adults laughed off political correctness as an insignificant Ivory Tower phenomenon and, decades later, it has embedded itself in every aspect of American life.
• A critical mass of rational adults - many of them in the top echelons of political power - turned a blind eye to the real enemy in our war on Jihadikazes. This is not, as W - and Barry - claim a war against some fringe wingnuts who 'hijacked a great religion'. We are at war with Islam itself, a belief system whose endgame involves world domination - forcible adherence to their supernaturalism - by any means necessary. In this battle for our very survival, tolerating this evil is not an option.

• The political atmosphere in D.C. is TOXIC. Prolonged exposure, invariably turns the most rational Elected Tormentor into a McCain or a Schumer.
• If you hate the gender you were assigned at birth, that's your personal problem. You can pin any label you want on yourself, but it doesn't change biological fact. Your imaginary gender is irrelevant. If you've got a hole - original equipment or a tribute to modern medicine - you do your business in hole city - the women/ladies/girls facilities. • If you get more money back from the government than it stole from you, it is NOT a refund. It's welfare, laundered through the IRS.
• If you oppose some, or all, of The One's policies, it doesn't make you a racist, no matter how vociferously the Obamunists brandish the race card.
• Everything the Nanny State spews about the U.S. Constitution is bullshit. Contrary to what they told you, the United States Constitution delineates, with considerable specificity, the limits under which our government operates. It does not include an exhaustive list of inalienable individual rights.
• They're also full of crap about the Bill of Rights. If an item is included in the Bill of Rights, that does not mean that the government ever had a Constitutional mandate to restrict it in the first place. Finally, kindly remembere that according to the Ninth Amendment, individuals have countless rights that are not listed in the prior amendments, rights that the government must respect. Don't hold your breath waiting for the Nanny State to admit THAT.

• Everything the Nanny State spews about the U.S. Constitution is bullshit. Contrary to what they told you, the United States Constitution delineates, with considerable specificity, the limits under which our government operates. It does not include an exhaustive list of inalienable individual rights.
• They're also full of crap about the Bill of Rights. If an item is included in the Bill of Rights, that does not mean that the government ever had a Constitutional mandate to restrict it in the first place. Finally, kindly remembere that according to the Ninth Amendment, individuals have countless rights that are not listed in the prior amendments, rights that the government must respect. Don't hold your breath waiting for the Nanny State to admit THAT.

Rant-Shutdown Could Halt VA Checks by November-Shinseki
Got no use for this individual, what so ever. Our Eldest Son, SFC, US Army Reserve was in the Regular Army when Shinseki was the Chief of Staff..................
We paid a visit to Fort Drum in the Summer of 2001 to pay a visit. The feeling I got from the grunt mechanics in the Vehicle Maintenance Battalion was more of the kind we in the Sea Service hold for Elmo Zumwalt and many of my Air Force Brethren here at Edwards have for McPeak............................That bad it was.
The part that really sucks is that after coming out of the 88 hour furlough, my disability was raised to 60 percent. That was helping make up for a few items that were put aside......................................

to comprehend because we are not mass murderers. Folks- I'm not going
to pretend to be some philosopher with all the answers. I don't know why
God allowed this to happen. I don't have spiritual eyes- I'm still here
on earth. I won't see the spiritual forces until I get to the other
side. This much I know: I absolutely believe the Bible- for more reasons
than I can type with my thumbs on an FB status. That means I believe in
unseen angels - some work for Almighty God and some for Satan. I
believe in personal choice and responsibility. We choose to be swayed by
good or evil. This mass murderer chose evil. Now- feeding young minds a
constant diet of violence, sex etcetera is going to make them weaker
against those forces, but don't blame music, movies, video games for all
of that. They are about supply and demand. If people demand trash and
are willing to pay for it, business will supply it. Don't blame psych
drugs- some folks have chemical imbalances and they need those meds to
live a somewhat normal life. I'm VERY pro natural, but sometimes our
bodies need help. Don't blame guns- murders, rapes, robberies happen all
the time without guns! I've worked with some criminals as I've walked
this strange life of mine. Not a single one of them said they refused to
have a gun because the gun was illegal. Funny thing about criminals-
they don't seem to obey the law. Smh. And blaming God? I've seen
comments that God was allowed in church where kids were molested, Hitler
was a Christian, what God are we praying to who would allow this to
happen, etc. *sigh* I'm not wanting to get into a long debate (and don't
get long winded in the comments about it either as I know a few of you
can) or details, but quite simply you either believe Christ died and
rose again or you don't. You either believe God loves you (and He does)
or you don't. I pray and hope that you do. Message me if you want to
talk about it! God doesn't dictate that we follow Him. I believe the
murders yesterday were of a person with a depraved heart. I will
continue to pray for the first responders, families, loved ones, CT, and
our nation. But taking the weapons away from law abiding citizens, meds
away from those who need them, and blaming God are not the answers. May
God comfort our nation, and may souls seek Him in the midst of this
horror.

- Movements that reject American values in favor of American guilt (Occupy)
- Anti-Americanism as a needy appeasement to our international adversaries
- Hero worship of celebrities based on artificial edginess (Johnny Depp is not really a pirate)
- Destroying things. Did Pete Townsend ever think of the maid as he trashed his 25th hotel room?
- Victimhood. The elevation of the David and Goliath myth as a universal storyboard dictating that evil can be good, as long as it's smaller than the good. If America was a house, the left would root for the termites.
- Code words. Language that aptly describes things is uncool. However, euphemisms created to avoid hurting the feelings of our adversaries is not. Hence, Ft. Hood terror is workplace violence. Which, I guess that makes Hurricane Sandy a pool party.
- Talking about your identity. If you're gay, bisexual, transgendered, Raelian, or Eskimo, chances are I'll hear about it. If you are less proud of what you do than who you do then you're considered cool.

Tyranny of Cool. That is some description. When reading the list in the piece, one does go hmmmmmm. OK, I did, anyway.
To me it comes down to dependency is now 'cool.' When I was a kid in North Central Montana, life on a good day was tough at times. My Dad hunted to keep the freezer full. Both of my folks worked. A movie on Saturday was two bits. A Coke was a nickel.
Cool? No concept. Now being a real burden on the rest of us is cool. Got to wonder about shit now days. I do know that my Lee Precision Press is going to get used finally. Take that as you may.

Disgusting and sad: War memorial defaced with jihadist graffiti on Veterans Day
Seems that the deeds of The Canadian Armed Forces are not popular with a segment of the population in Toronto.
This was in The Daily Mail today:
Vandals defaced a war memorial with jihadist graffiti just hours after Veterans Day services were held at the site.
The vandal scrawled 'Canada will burn; Praise Allah' in black marker pen across a memorial sculpture in Coronation Park, Toronto.
It came just a few hours after anti-war protesters interrupted the two minute silence during the ceremony at Toronto's Old City Hall Sunday morning by chanting slogans.
In my views, the West should treat the Muslims in the manner in which Japan does. They have very tough restrictions on them. I read that last night. When I find it, I will post it.
Now it could have been any hippy, liberal, dependent anti war scum and not Muslim Jihadists. But were I a betting man...............................................

She has as a trademark of her tenure in the senate a track record of attacks on individual liberties.
Always remember this, Dianne Feinstein is a Traitor. Nothing else matters. She should be arrested and tried by a court of law.
She has failed to uphold that most critical part of the oath of office. That is to "preserve and protect the Constitution of The United States, against all enemies, foreign and domestic." This does, give aid and comfort to our enemies.

James Pisano at Google Plus on the election yesterday
Here's what I'm seeing from what happened last night:
1. The American people have spoken. Although I do not believe Conservatism is a minority mentality in America, what is exposed through the evidence from yesterday's election is that Conservatives are not well represented, and thus will not be able to well represent Americans in its political endeavours. This needs to change if America is going to become a powerful leader on the world stage again, instead of a complicit follower.
2. Americans, as a whole, do not understand the damage that has been done to our ability to sustain ourselves as a Nation. We've forgotten what self reliance means, and have traded hard work and dignity in for revenge politics a la Valarie Jarrett, David Axelrod and President Obama. America, to our dismay, has shown that the sensationalism of the dirty political game is what makes them happy.
3. We, as a Nation, are in for a devaluation of the dollar as a world currency. The world, as we know it, will begin to stop trading commodities in our currency and we will begin to see a downward spiral into banana republic status as we continue to try to print our way out of the obligations Keynesian fiscal policies will create for our progeny, and theirs. America will see its credit rating dropped from the As and we will become the biggest Greece this world has ever known. The rest of the world will be forced to cut us off for fear of our failure taking us down with them.
4. Because the House remained in GOP control and the Senate did not change control we will see a perpetual Continuing Resolution built on a 2009 budget baseline that included over $1T in spending that was intended to be temporary. Instead of what President Obama promised in a reduction of our National Debt and reduction of our Deficit Spending we will see at least $5T more added to our debt with $1.3T/yr deficit spending per year until Obama leaves office.
5. There will be continued attacks on the non-governmental institutions that have helped define what it means to be an American. The Constitution will see attack after attack as Justice Ginsburg retires and two more lifetime appointments to the Supreme Court are appointed by President Obama and Harry Reid. These appointments will be divisive, have defined designs on their personal interpretations of the Constitution and what it means in terms of how the Government can control the individual and the individual entity. We will see an increased fervor from those already in our Government for Command and Control governance, where the regulatory state will determine your outcome regardless of the legal ramifications of your actions within your state of residency. If you wish to succeed it will be at the behest of the Government, not because of your desire to do so.
6. Iran will be emboldened by our inability to throw off the shackles of tyranny which bind us to our fate. Ahmadinejad will see this election as akin to what happened in 2009 in Tahrir Square through violence and unproductive demonstration against a totalitarian regime, and recognize our unfulfilled will to oust a dictatorial despot as further evidence that we do not possess the means to prevent him from developing a nuclear device. Iran will reach that goal or Israel will be forced to stop them, and they will have to do so on their own. This will spark the powder keg that is the Middle East into what could very well become the catalyst to WW3. Under President Obama we will not be prepared to protect ourselves or our allies, and we will not be prepared to feed and power ourselves without the rest of the world's resources available for our purchase because the Command and Control state will not allow for continued domestic energy and agricultural development.
7. Because the President and those in the Senate will see their continued status in power as a mandate from the people for them to lead us to their designs of what this Nation should be we will see massive increases in taxes for the wealthy and what is known as the upper middle class. Those who have means will leave this country for nations friendlier to their wealth, and those who do not have means will suffer at the hands of a Nation that does not value their productivity as much as it values punishing it through wealth redistributive measures. Those who are in the so-called middle class will find it harder to succeed, and those who are poor will become poorer still. There will be a rash of selling of stock and a retraction from the market by those who have capital but are unwilling to spend it in anticipation of the increased taxation that will come beginning in 2013 and continue with the implementation of ObamaCare.
We're in for a very rough four years, everyone. If you measure our Nation's success in terms of the unemployment numbers and GDP, both are in store for a respective downturn as those who produce begin to find new markets to move their productive activities into. War will not become a thing of the past, and we will see many more instances where Libya's failures will become the norm.
We have been shown to be the moral minority. That doesn't need to be our death knell, but at present it will be discouraging. Do not despair. When confronted with the truths about Conservatism in the face of the lies of Liberalism and outside of the echo chamber that is the mainstream media, the American People invariably choose the former over the latter. We have to find a way to cleanse the GOP of those less than upstanding examples of who and what we stand for, and better educate those who are willing to listen. Our message is clear, but the minds of those receptive to it are not, and the hearts of those who would co-opt our souls for avarice and power are all too common.
This is not the end, everyone. It is a beginning. Fight Club and the Dogs of War are not dead. Eventually Americans will realize what they've done to themselves. Once they do we will be there to help guide them out of the dark and into the light that is Freedom, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness.

I freely admit this, I am not very happy with what occurred last night. There have been many reports of improprieties around the country. I think the process was compromised in several locations. I will wait and see if there are proper investigations into such activity. I do have this little bit from a friend of mine in Madera County, California.

Governor Brown needs to be held accountable as well along with our Attorney General. That individual, Kamala Harris is a Card Carrying Member of the American Communist Party. Nuff said there.
After the shameful manner in which the voting was handled in many locals along with the blind faith of those who voted for a second term for the Current Occupant of 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, I will no longer give any respect to Barack Obama. To me he is a pretender, usurper and a charlatan.
I am now considering liquidation of assets and heading to Belize.
The unintended consequences are already happening as reflected in the Dow dropping 300 points immediately upon opening of the stock exchange.
The United States of America is no longer the Republic which I served for the best twenty years of my life. It is now a third world septic tank. We allowed UN representatives from other countries to "monitor" our electoral process. Our currency is not what it was at all. Our "leaders" act as if they could care less. I include a number of GOP Senators in this as well.
All of those who voted and enabled the outcome of last night are going to be surprised when things start to fall in on them as a result of their lack of proper judgement.
As for California, the liberals who make up the majority in this once vibrant and productive state have decided, among other things, that a tax hike is in order. Prop 30 was passed along with other dubious measures.

There will be a rash of selling of stock and a retraction from the market by those who have capital but are unwilling to spend it in anticipation of the increased taxation that will come beginning in 2013 and continue with the implementation of ObamaCare.
We're in for a very rough four years, everyone. If you measure our Nation's success in terms of the unemployment numbers and GDP, both are in store for a respective downturn as those who produce begin to find new markets to move their productive activities into. War will not become a thing of the past, and we will see many more instances where Libya's failures will become the norm.
We have been shown to be the moral minority. That doesn't need to be our death knell, but at present it will be discouraging. Do not despair. When confronted with the truths about Conservatism in the face of the lies of Liberalism and outside of the echo chamber that is the mainstream media, the American People invariably choose the former over the latter. We have to find a way to cleanse the GOP of those less than upstanding examples of who and what we stand for, and better educate those who are willing to listen. Our message is clear, but the minds of those receptive to it are not, and the hearts of those who would co-opt our souls for avarice and power are all too common.
This is not the end, everyone. It is a beginning. Fight Club and the Dogs of War are not dead. Eventually Americans will realize what they've done to themselves. Once they do we will be there to help guide them out of the dark and into the light that is Freedom, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness.
My two cents starts here.
I freely admit this, I am not very happy with what occurred last night. There have been many reports of improprieties around the country. I think the process was compromised in several locations. I will wait and see if there are proper investigations into such activity. I do have this little bit from a friend of mine in Madera County, California.

Republican Congressmen had better form an investigative committee and have every single democrat signature checked for legitimacy and then count the signatures against ballots. Remember, this is a state that actively supports and coddles illegal aliens over and above the citizens. The Democrats, as they are called, are directly responsible for this. Governor Brown needs to be held accountable as well along with our Attorney General. That individual, Kamala Harris is a Card Carrying Member of the American Communist Party. Nuff said there.
After the shameful manner in which the voting was handled in many locals along with the blind faith of those who voted for a second term for the Current Occupant of 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, I will no longer give any respect to Barack Obama. To me he is a pretender, usurper and a charlatan.
I am now considering liquidation of assets and heading to Belize.
The unintended consequences are already happening as reflected in the Dow dropping 300 points immediately upon opening of the stock exchange.
The United States of America is no longer the Republic which I served for the best twenty years of my life. It is now a third world septic tank. We allowed UN representatives from other countries to "monitor" our electoral process. Our currency is not what it was at all. Our "leaders" act as if they could care less. I include a number of GOP Senators in this as well.
All of those who voted and enabled the outcome of last night are going to be surprised when things start to fall in on them as a result of their lack of proper judgement.
As for California, the liberals who make up the majority in this once vibrant and productive state have decided, among other things, that a tax hike is in order. Prop 30 was passed along with other dubious measures.
