Happy Hour

"IF A LIFETIME CAN BE LIKENED TO A DAY, THEN THIS IS HAPPY HOUR!"

Mother, Mother Ocean

Mother, Mother Ocean, I've heard you call
Wanted to sail upon your waters since I was three feet tall
You've seen it all, you've seen it all
Watched the men who rode you, switch from sails to steam
In your belly you hold the treasures, few have ever seen
Most of 'em dream, most of 'em dream
Yes, I am a pirate, two hundred year's too late
The cannons don't thunder, there's nothin' to plunder
I'm an over-forty victim of fate
Arriving too late, arriving too late

Yoda

"Size matters not. Look at me. Judge me by my size, do you? Hmm? Hmm. And well you should not. For my ally is the Force, and a powerful ally it is."
―Yoda, to Luke Skywalker

Counted the Stars

Counted the stars on the 4th of July
Wishing we were rockets bursting in the sky
Talking about redemption and leaving things behind
I have these pictures and I keep these photographs
To remind me of a time
These pictures and these photographs
Let me know I'm doin' fine
We used to be so happy once upon a time
Once upon a time
But the sun sank west of the Mendocino County Line
And the sun sank west of the Mendocino County Line

Connecticut Liar

Seems the State AG in CT, Mr. Blumethal, has been telling folks he was in Vietnam during his time in the Marine Corps Reserve. This Ain't Hell got him in this lie. The dirtbag was in Vietnam as much as I was. I wasn't. But I also served during the last two years or so of our involvement there. Started in September of 73, I did. And in the Regular Navy, it was. First duty station was United States Ship, Independence CV62 out of Norfolk, Virginia. Nothing special or extraordinary, just a sea tour for an AA to AMH2.
Vietnam Era, yes, I will give him that. But in SE Asia? I think not. Sad to see Marines actually standing up for him. I saw part of the press conference, spectacle or tap dance routine at lunch.
Irregardless, the man lied to all. As a Marine he should have thought long and hard about that. But being a Democrat in a small, socialist, welfare state and adored by the left is his pass. Marines, past, present and future should make sure that the voters in CT get the straight skinney about this man.
The Old Retired Petty Officer has no use for him, even as a man. All his claims to any respect and honour are now null and void.

And he got into the marine Corps reserve without having any strings pulled. Then he managed to be in school to avoid service in Viet nam. The crowning blow was that he chose to cover his tracks by saying he misspoke. There ought to be a group of guys out there that tatoo USMC on hie ass and scramble the letters (SCUM). MUD

That's a TERRIFIC idea, MUD! A bit too kind, but terrific all the same.

Another bit of proof that I'm glad I don't watch the news.

Yep. Worthless POS but then we already knew that because he chose to become a politician.
