Happy Hour

Mother, Mother Ocean

Mother, Mother Ocean, I've heard you call
Wanted to sail upon your waters since I was three feet tall
You've seen it all, you've seen it all
Watched the men who rode you, switch from sails to steam
In your belly you hold the treasures, few have ever seen
Most of 'em dream, most of 'em dream
Yes, I am a pirate, two hundred year's too late
The cannons don't thunder, there's nothin' to plunder
I'm an over-forty victim of fate
Arriving too late, arriving too late

Yoda

"Size matters not. Look at me. Judge me by my size, do you? Hmm? Hmm. And well you should not. For my ally is the Force, and a powerful ally it is."
―Yoda, to Luke Skywalker

Counted the Stars

Counted the stars on the 4th of July
Wishing we were rockets bursting in the sky
Talking about redemption and leaving things behind
I have these pictures and I keep these photographs
To remind me of a time
These pictures and these photographs
Let me know I'm doin' fine
We used to be so happy once upon a time
Once upon a time
But the sun sank west of the Mendocino County Line
And the sun sank west of the Mendocino County Line

Out of Control Bums

Aero News has an article up on the WA Legislature considering draconian taxes on personal and business aircraft in the state. Makes one wonder what makes shit like this live with themselves.
Go to Aeronews.net and check it out.
It is on the articles dated for today the 14th.
Lousy, no good, rat bastards are out of control. The best remedy would be along the lines of Cromwell's when he went through the process of getting rid of Charles 1. Look it up.
It might amuse. As for me, I prefer the Vigilantes approach: 3-7-77.

Ah, Glenn. More "tax the rich" BS... coz the Common Man don't own very many, if any, airplanes. No?

But we do the manufacturing and care-taking of them.

And in the western states, quite a few used to own airplanes, and they weren't Lears with leather upholstery to go hang with Hollyweird at the Oscars. Don't know if any do now, but I would have one if I lived out there again.

The politicians up here are out of control. Since we have no income tax, they find ways to tax everything else. This year our esteemed governor (not!) has proposed taxes on candy, soda, and, get this, a one cent per ounce tax on bottled water.

And they, of course, have the steal from the rich, give to the poor mentality. They won't learn form New York's experience, which is when you overtax those who have the most money, they move themselves, their businesses (and the jobs) to other states. The net result is less state income. Go figure!

For those that are watching the sage, Boeing, on of the Legacy corporations in WA, is prepping themselves to exit this state. They have reached their wits end with our politicians.

I will not go down and tell my children I didn't have the courage, the conviction, the commitment or the character to fight for this country...Don't go home and let your children down~~ LTC Allen West
