Happy Hour

Mother, Mother Ocean

Mother, Mother Ocean, I've heard you call
Wanted to sail upon your waters since I was three feet tall
You've seen it all, you've seen it all
Watched the men who rode you, switch from sails to steam
In your belly you hold the treasures, few have ever seen
Most of 'em dream, most of 'em dream
Yes, I am a pirate, two hundred year's too late
The cannons don't thunder, there's nothin' to plunder
I'm an over-forty victim of fate
Arriving too late, arriving too late

Yoda

"Size matters not. Look at me. Judge me by my size, do you? Hmm? Hmm. And well you should not. For my ally is the Force, and a powerful ally it is."
―Yoda, to Luke Skywalker

Counted the Stars

Counted the stars on the 4th of July
Wishing we were rockets bursting in the sky
Talking about redemption and leaving things behind
I have these pictures and I keep these photographs
To remind me of a time
These pictures and these photographs
Let me know I'm doin' fine
We used to be so happy once upon a time
Once upon a time
But the sun sank west of the Mendocino County Line
And the sun sank west of the Mendocino County Line

Bruins at Canadiens

The Canadian Women's Hockey Team got a special greeting at the Bell Centre in Montreal, PQ tonight. They also did the ceremonial VIP face off. Considering the 18 year old that got both goals in the Gold Medal Game is a Quebecois , it is only fitting.
Yeah, I am a Canadiens Fan. From the Western Prairies. Go Figure. Vive le Blue, Blanc et Rouge!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I get Hockey Night in Canada on the NHL Network on my satellite service provider. Grew up on it. Love it still. Even Peter Puck, OK.

I wouldn't cheer for the Francs on a bet...with the POSSIBLE exception of Toronto. Flames & Oilers, with some Canucks thrown in for interest.

Not that I've watched a game in many many years, but those are prairie province teams (and I'm always a fan of the small-market, less "popular" teams).

And we don't watch enough tv to warrant getting a new set...yet.

Now I am confused. You moved to California when most of them are leaving in droves. I guess I understand the job need, but Hockey? A bunch of people skating around trying to hit a little hard plastic disk into a net and then fist fighting at the drop of a glove? Oh well, we all have our game to watch. But Hockey? MUD

MUD- I needed the job. Laid off at Hawker Beechcraft in Feb of last year. One of almost 13,000 aircraft workers in and around Wichita out of work. Civil Service Gig out here at Edwards AFB.
Hockey-Grew up on it on the CBC from Lethbridge and Regina. Played it as a kid and in my mid forties.

ANY hockey is GOOD hockey. I was known to watch the peewee games on my community access channel in Royal Oak when I lived in Deetroit. It's that bad with me.

But the Canadiens? We have to draw a line somewhere... ;-)

I will not go down and tell my children I didn't have the courage, the conviction, the commitment or the character to fight for this country...Don't go home and let your children down~~ LTC Allen West
