Kings to play for the Cup!

It is Friday

Been a bit of a different week for me.
For the entire week, I did not launch and recover a jet. Yesterday was my Regular Day Off and I used it to recover a bit from Wednesday Evening. Beck's and play off hockey.
The Los Angeles Kings who are the 8 seed in the West pulled off a 4-2 win over the Vancouver Canucks in Vancouver. Game 2 is later. Going to be watching it for sure.
The Weather today here in The High Desert was rain, wind, rain and more rain. It was snowing in the Tehachapi Mountains and parts of The High Sierras. Middle of April in Central and So Cal and we get winter weather!

Ducks eliminated

Nashville 4, Anaheim 2. The Predators move on in the Quest for the Stanley Cup. Congrats to the Preds on their first trip past the first round. The Ducks did OK this year. Good on Barry Trotz and the gang in Nashville.

Stanley Cup Playoffs

My beloved Montreal Canadiens have taken a 1-0 lead in the Eastern Conference Quarterfinals! They took game one in Boston over the Bruins with a 2-0 score. Cary Price had the shutout! It is a best of seven but it is a long time since the Habs have won a playoff game.

Cup Final Set

My HABS were eliminated by the Broad Street Bullies tonight. The score was 4-2 and the series took five games. Congrats to all you Flyers fans. My boys from La Belle Quebec made it a lot further than anyone expected.
On a limb. Flyers in Six. Got that, Buck, old buddy!

Habs Lose, Arghhhhhhhhhhhh! Down Three to One.

OK. Stick the fork in 'em. The Flyers are running rampant over my boys from Montreal. But it was a good run. Being down three to one to a team on a roll like the Broad Street Bullies is not a good spot to be. I have to go with a Flyers-Blackhawks Final this year. Original Six team and a Second Six team in the final. Good historical value there.

Stanley Cup Playoffs, Conference Finals Set

The Philadelphia Flyers pulled it off. From a 3 games to none deficit to a date with my Canadiens in the Eastern Final. The last NHL team to win a series after trailing 3-0 was the 1975 Islanders.
In the West it will be San Jose against Chicago.
The neat trivia is that in the West, it is the one seed and the two seed, while in the East it is the seven seed against the eight seed. What a playoff. Even Buck is amazed considering his Red Wings are out of it. IT IS THAT GOOD THIS YEAR!

HABS WIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Part Conference Final!

Montreal 5, Pittsburgh 2. Game seven. HABS in a conference final since 1993 when they last hoisted Lord Stanley's Cup.
Blue, Blanc et Rouge.
Watched the last half of the game at Coach's in Rosamond. With Rod Renteria and Bobby McAdoo and of course the Missus. Wings, Fat Tire and Hockey! Great evening with friends.

Habs Lose, Arghhhhhhhhhhhh!

The Penguins put on an offensive show..........The final being 6-3. Halak was not on his game at all. And the Pens were really, really good. It is a best of seven, though.

Montreal 2-Washington 1. Canadiens win the series 4 games to 3. Jaroslav Havlak in goal was amazing in goal!

Playoffs

Caps 6, Canadiens 5 OT. Backstrom got his hat trick with the winner at :31 of the OT. Series is tied at one game a piece. The Caps came from a 4-1 deficit to tie at 5. They played like they were supposed to. But both games have gone to the OT. Good series for hockey fans.

Got the Penguins and Senators on Versus. Like the DirecTV thing. Yup. Sure do. Especially since it is the most wonderful time of the year.
