Mother, Mother Ocean
Mother, Mother Ocean, I've heard you call
Wanted to sail upon your waters since I was three feet tall
You've seen it all, you've seen it all
Wanted to sail upon your waters since I was three feet tall
You've seen it all, you've seen it all
Watched the men who rode you, switch from sails to steam
In your belly you hold the treasures, few have ever seen
Most of 'em dream, most of 'em dream
In your belly you hold the treasures, few have ever seen
Most of 'em dream, most of 'em dream
Yes, I am a pirate, two hundred year's too late
The cannons don't thunder, there's nothin' to plunder
I'm an over-forty victim of fate
Arriving too late, arriving too late
The cannons don't thunder, there's nothin' to plunder
I'm an over-forty victim of fate
Arriving too late, arriving too late

Wishing we were rockets bursting in the sky
Talking about redemption and leaving things behind
I have these pictures and I keep these photographs
To remind me of a time
These pictures and these photographs
Let me know I'm doin' fine
We used to be so happy once upon a time
Once upon a time
But the sun sank west of the Mendocino County Line

Memorial Day. Two Poems.
I thought perhaps these were fitting...................
Just me folks. Nothing more. Nothing less.
Can't think of anything else that works...................................
To all my Brethren......................Anchors Aweigh, Semper Fi, Semper Paratus, Army Strong, Aim High.................................
ORPO sends............................................
Marching past, straight through to Hell
Though some go curving down the trail
And so when man and horse go down
Just me folks. Nothing more. Nothing less.
Can't think of anything else that works...................................
To all my Brethren......................Anchors Aweigh, Semper Fi, Semper Paratus, Army Strong, Aim High.................................
ORPO sends............................................
WESTMORELAND. O that we now had here
But one ten thousand of those men in England
That do no work to-day!
KING. What’s he that wishes so?
My cousin Westmoreland? No, my fair cousin;
If we are mark’d to die, we are enow
To do our country loss; and if to live,
The fewer men, the greater share of honour.
God’s will! I pray thee, wish not one man more.
By Jove, I am not covetous for gold,
Nor care I who doth feed upon my cost;
It yearns me not if men my garments wear;
Such outward things dwell not in my desires.
But if it be a sin to covet honour,
I am the most offending soul alive.
No, faith, my coz, wish not a man from England.
God’s peace! I would not lose so great an honour
As one man more methinks would share from me
For the best hope I have. O, do not wish one more!
Rather proclaim it, Westmoreland, through my host,
That he which hath no stomach to this fight,
Let him depart; his passport shall be made,
And crowns for convoy put into his purse;
We would not die in that man’s company
That fears his fellowship to die with us.
This day is call’d the feast of Crispian.
He that outlives this day, and comes safe home,
Will stand a tip-toe when this day is nam’d,
And rouse him at the name of Crispian.
He that shall live this day, and see old age,
Will yearly on the vigil feast his neighbours,
And say “To-morrow is Saint Crispian.”
Then will he strip his sleeve and show his scars,
And say “These wounds I had on Crispian’s day.”
Old men forget; yet all shall be forgot,
But he’ll remember, with advantages,
What feats he did that day. Then shall our names,
Familiar in his mouth as household words-
Harry the King, Bedford and Exeter,
Warwick and Talbot, Salisbury and Gloucester-
Be in their flowing cups freshly rememb’red.
This story shall the good man teach his son;
And Crispin Crispian shall ne’er go by,
From this day to the ending of the world,
But we in it shall be remembered-
We few, we happy few, we band of brothers;
For he to-day that sheds his blood with me
Shall be my brother; be he ne’er so vile,
This day shall gentle his condition;
And gentlemen in England now-a-bed
Shall think themselves accurs’d they were not here,
And hold their manhoods cheap whiles any speaks
That fought with us upon Saint Crispin’s day.
But one ten thousand of those men in England

Halfway down the trail to Hell,
In a shady meadow green
Are the Souls of all dead
troopers camped,
Near a good old-time canteen.
And this eternal resting place
Is known as Fiddlers'
Green.
Marching past, straight through to Hell
The Infantry are seen.
Accompanied by the Engineers,
Artillery and Marines,
For none but the shades of
Cavalrymen
Dismount at Fiddlers'
Green.
Though some go curving down the trail
To seek a warmer
scene.
No trooper ever gets to
Hell
Ere he's emptied his
canteen.
And so rides back to drink
again
With friends at Fiddlers'
Green.
And so when man and horse go down
Beneath a saber
keen,
Or in a roaring charge of fierce
melee
You stop a bullet clean,
And the hostiles come to get
your scalp,
Just empty your canteen,
(Note)
And go to Fiddlers' Green.

New definition of having a bad day. Cirrus Chute Deployment Fails Over Texas, Pilot Still Makes Safe Landing
Cirrus Chute Deployment Fails Over Texas, Pilot Still Makes Safe Landing:
You know you're having a bad day when a flight goes so bad that you feel you must resort to using a parachute to see you safely through the flight... but the day is TRULY bad when that chute fails and leaves you to battle the emergency that you thought you had escaped from.
The link above has the entire story. Makes one go hmmmmmm.
