On the way back from the Sepulveda VA Facility and an eye exam. There is a scenic overlook above the lake that looks out over East Palmdale to Lancaster and beyond. It was a bit hazy at the time along with dust from the brisk wind coming off the mountains.
Just a few I thought might interest all.

The mark going up that hill is the indicator on the surface of the San Andreas Fault, I think. |

LA-Palmdale Airport and Air Force Plant 42. Home of the Lockheed Skunk Works and other Aerospace Companies Special Projects Divisions. In addition there is a rather nice little park along East Rancho Vista that has many aircraft on static display. |

Palmdale Lake toward the Airport, Plant 42 and vaguely in the distance is Edwards AFB to the right.

It doesn't look like much has changed in the 40 years since I lived and worked there. How strange...
How'd the eye exam go?
Palmdale and Lancaster were simply railway sidings and plant 42 back then I do believe.
Now it is a metro area of about 450,000!
Exam went well. Travel pay not so well. Waited for three plus hours. Then I was told to either wait three months for a check or do direct deposit. All while on a clear liquid diet. The other fun and games are tomorrow.

Which is about a ten-fold increase, IIRC.
Other fun and games? You are SO cryptic of late, Glenn!
All clear on the "other fun and games!"
In and out in and pig out at Denny's after leaving the surgery center in Tehachapi!
