Happy Hour

"IF A LIFETIME CAN BE LIKENED TO A DAY, THEN THIS IS HAPPY HOUR!"
BUCK PENNINGTON

Mother, Mother Ocean

Mother, Mother Ocean, I've heard you call
Wanted to sail upon your waters since I was three feet tall
You've seen it all, you've seen it all
Watched the men who rode you, switch from sails to steam
In your belly you hold the treasures, few have ever seen
Most of 'em dream, most of 'em dream
Yes, I am a pirate, two hundred year's too late
The cannons don't thunder, there's nothin' to plunder
I'm an over-forty victim of fate
Arriving too late, arriving too late

Yoda

"Size matters not. Look at me. Judge me by my size, do you? Hmm? Hmm. And well you should not. For my ally is the Force, and a powerful ally it is."
―Yoda, to Luke Skywalker

Counted the Stars

Counted the stars on the 4th of July
Wishing we were rockets bursting in the sky
Talking about redemption and leaving things behind
I have these pictures and I keep these photographs
To remind me of a time
These pictures and these photographs
Let me know I'm doin' fine
We used to be so happy once upon a time
Once upon a time
But the sun sank west of the Mendocino County Line
And the sun sank west of the Mendocino County Line

Saturday Night Tunes..............David Bowie, Freddie Mercury, Queen and Annie Lennox.

Under Pressure: Acapella with Bowie, Freddie Mercury and Queen followed by David Bowie and Annie Lennox.
A lot of amazing voices for one song.
My friend Joy McCann had the Bowie/Mercury/Queen one at her Facebook page. The other was on the list at the Tube 'O You(For Buck).

I do like David Bowie with Queen acapella. I have never heard it this way until now..........

Another one of "those anniversaries"

Oh Shit, I'm getting old moment.............
40 years ago today, I finished my first deployment to the Med on Independence with the ship's arrival at Pier 7, Naval Station Norfolk on a very cold, rainy and windy day.

Montana town is farthest from a Starbucks in the U.S. | KRTV.com

Circle, Montana is in the East Central part of the state. Where SR 200 and SR 13 meet. The proverbial middle of nowhere........................No Starbucks? No Problem.

"Try this number: 192 miles. That's how far it is from Circle in central Montana to the nearest caramel macchiato."

Feeling Rough

I left work early on Thursday night. Belly ache, feverish and no appetite. I missed Friday as well.
I have had fever above 100 and I have eaten sparsely at best.
I guess that when one gets older, getting over the flu is a slow process. The fever this morning was 100 again.
Buck was right. Getting old ain't for sissies.
My souvenir from September 2009 when I had my left kidney removed.

Mike Rowe is the epitome of humble (5 Photos)

I miss Dirty Jobs..............
Mike Rowe is a one of a kind guy.
I do try and DVR his show on CNN when there are new episodes.
I am at home sick..............looking for something to occupy the brain on occasion as is the TV lineup kind of sucks today.

A month ago, a fan of the television show "Dirty Jobs" asked host Mike Rowe a series of questions regarding his integrity of living that modest, blue-collar lifestyle he portrays. It's evident that this fan has his doubts, and why wouldn't he with all the success Mike has had. The "Dirty Jobs" fan swears that Mike lives a much more luxurious life than his TV persona implies. Here's what he asks...

Train Pr0n: Climbing To The Continental Divide – Big Sky Country!

Awesome video of trains on the Mullan Pass line of the Montana Rail Link. I lived in Helena as a kid and we would watch the pushers connect to the back of the train for the climb to the summit. In 1968, I rode the old Northern Pacific Main Streeter from Billings to Missoula and back with Mom, Grandma and my two younger sisters.
Trains are simply awesome and I still love them.

This is at a place called I Love Trains
