News Item from Wichita

I saw on the Wichita Eagle site this item.
Hawker Beechcraft hands out 130 lay off notices. That is 375 this year. It was 2,700 last year. I was laid off on 26 February of 2009. That is why I wound up here in the California High Desert.
It is a direct result of the Inquisition held by congressional leaders that determined that corporate aircraft were "evil" after summoning the automaker CEOs to the said inquisition. The idiots have no grasp of unintended consequences.
Cessna had over 12,000 people on site in the Wichita Metro in August of 2008. They have half that number working now. I don't know how Learjet is doing. But the last overall numbers I heard was a total of around 13,000 aircraft workers not working.
Nice job, barack, nancy and harry, nice job indeed you idiots!

  1. Chief: he's moved on from wrecking the private aircraft industry, and is now working on the oil industry.

So many industries to wreck, so little time....

  2. There really is not one industry untouched by liberal, socialist 'unintended consequences'.

    Remeber November!

  3. In 1971, I left Wichita because I could not find work. Not a job, work. The job I had bagging groceries was not available because an out of work aircraft engineer had it. I decided that I would never again put myself in a place so dependent on one industry. I don't blame the Democrats for this cycle. There are a lot of Republicans that voted for the spending that got us where we are. MUD
