Happy Hour

"IF A LIFETIME CAN BE LIKENED TO A DAY, THEN THIS IS HAPPY HOUR!"
BUCK PENNINGTON

Mother, Mother Ocean

Mother, Mother Ocean, I've heard you call
Wanted to sail upon your waters since I was three feet tall
You've seen it all, you've seen it all
Watched the men who rode you, switch from sails to steam
In your belly you hold the treasures, few have ever seen
Most of 'em dream, most of 'em dream
Yes, I am a pirate, two hundred year's too late
The cannons don't thunder, there's nothin' to plunder
I'm an over-forty victim of fate
Arriving too late, arriving too late

Yoda

"Size matters not. Look at me. Judge me by my size, do you? Hmm? Hmm. And well you should not. For my ally is the Force, and a powerful ally it is."
―Yoda, to Luke Skywalker

Counted the Stars

Counted the stars on the 4th of July
Wishing we were rockets bursting in the sky
Talking about redemption and leaving things behind
I have these pictures and I keep these photographs
To remind me of a time
These pictures and these photographs
Let me know I'm doin' fine
We used to be so happy once upon a time
Once upon a time
But the sun sank west of the Mendocino County Line
And the sun sank west of the Mendocino County Line

A funny for a gray and windy day..............................Sandy Eggo.....................................

The first blog I ever posted at was Parrothead Jeff & Friends.
Jeff does find the most funny stuff on the innertubes. He had this one up on Facebook this morning/afternoon. It's my Regular Day Off and time is something I try to make irrelevant.

This is a Sandy Eggo thing. I like Sandy Eggo. Got a place to gather for all us there. Family in North County.

Found online and too good not to share

Oceanside

Did the pool, spa, beer and watched and listened to my brother in law's band, The Geez do some jamming. Son and Daughter in Law arrived yesterday. Went to BevMo!
Got a six pack of He' Brew Genesis Ale. Not bad. It even has a Hasidic cartoon character on the label!
BevMo! is your one stop adult beverage super market out here in So Cal, BTW.
Beach later today.
Pictures will be up when we get home as this is Hector's desk top machine this post is being written on.

Building in the front, first deck. That is where I lived at RTC San Diego for five weeks beginning the first of October 1973.
The inside from near the door. The head was back to the left with the CC Stateroom. And we slept with the windows open.
And the BRAC and a bunch of worthless scum congress critters closed San Diego and Orlando and left that dump north of Chicago open.
Still trying to figure that one out.

Summer over? Not yet.

We had a very pleasant weekend here in the Antelope Valley. It managed to make the mid 80s on Saturday and all of 79 yesterday. Today was a mid 80s day with a NNW cool breeze of about 35. But it will be short lived. By this weekend, which is starting on Friday, it will be 105.
But the Missus and I are headed out of town, We are going to Oceanside to visit Sharon's sister and family. We haven't seen Jerry, Hector and Ashlee for quite awhile. There is also the pool, spa and beverage of choice in the hills inland. Just off of the CA 76, the next exit south of the Camp Pendleton main gate.
Might go to the pier and get a new sweatshirt and or ball cap.
It is supposed to be in the seventies in North San Diego County. Pleasant. Sunday next is forecast to be all of 65-68. A fleeting taste of Autumn. Then back to the Desert.
I will not go down and tell my children I didn't have the courage, the conviction, the commitment or the character to fight for this country...Don't go home and let your children down~~ LTC Allen West
