I have been ACC on this one since late last fall. I stole the pics from the EPAF storage on the Edwards system.

Mother, Mother Ocean
Mother, Mother Ocean, I've heard you call
Wanted to sail upon your waters since I was three feet tall
You've seen it all, you've seen it all
Wanted to sail upon your waters since I was three feet tall
You've seen it all, you've seen it all
Watched the men who rode you, switch from sails to steam
In your belly you hold the treasures, few have ever seen
Most of 'em dream, most of 'em dream
In your belly you hold the treasures, few have ever seen
Most of 'em dream, most of 'em dream
Yes, I am a pirate, two hundred year's too late
The cannons don't thunder, there's nothin' to plunder
I'm an over-forty victim of fate
Arriving too late, arriving too late
The cannons don't thunder, there's nothin' to plunder
I'm an over-forty victim of fate
Arriving too late, arriving too late

Counted the Stars
Counted the stars on the 4th of July
Wishing we were rockets bursting in the sky
Talking about redemption and leaving things behind
I have these pictures and I keep these photographs
To remind me of a time
These pictures and these photographs
Let me know I'm doin' fine
We used to be so happy once upon a time
Once upon a time
But the sun sank west of the Mendocino County Line
And the sun sank west of the Mendocino County Line
Wishing we were rockets bursting in the sky

Update: 416 CTF/AMU at Red Flag 12-2
It took a new computer with more capability to get this one done. I loaded it to UTooB for all to enjoy but it is Blog Worthy!
Almost forgot to give the credit to Chad "Snap" Bellay for all of this. He was our media guy for quite awhile. Moved to Lockheed Martin Fort Worth.

416 saying good bye
In reference to an earlier post about the loss of our friend, coworker, wing man and Shipmate, Ed Cunningham.
The 416 CTF, the 416 FLTS and 416 AMU fell in along the taxiway as 91-0383 rolled out to execute a memorial fly over of our flight line.
The Flag for Ed is in the jet.
I was part of the launch crew. Honored to be that for my departed Shipmate..

Another Milestone, somewhat overshadowed by tragedy
Today is the third anniversary of my nephrectomy.
After the news we got at work today, it pales....................
I did a post awhile back about a coworker and shipmate that had been diagnosed with cancer.
Last night, it took him from us.
It was a rough day at the 416 FLTS/416 AMU for sure.
I did have a flyer so being busy helped.
The jet later in the day took the flag on a memorial flyover/retreat flyover.

The Coin Went Flying Today
The original is at The Lexicans.
I reblogged it to Among The Joshua Trees.
I will link it here.
The Coin.
It went flying courtesy of Major Jeff "Oscar" Kennedy in 87-0352, an F-16CG. Major Kennedy is a Lt. Colonel Selectee and one of my favorite pilots here at the 416. He was more than happy to do it when I asked the favor of him.
Count him as an Honorary Lexican, I will.

I get bored sometimes, OK?
I figured that I would succumb to vanity and put up a shot of "My Jet" on the header. There she is, F-16C, 83-1120. I still have to get my name on the canopy rail. I was waiting for a few things to occur. Like the paperwork and such for the clearance the Air Force requires of one to simply turn wrenches. When I get my name on it, I will get some pics of me in the cockpit or on a stand next to it. Hopefully this week or next.
