Happy Hour

"IF A LIFETIME CAN BE LIKENED TO A DAY, THEN THIS IS HAPPY HOUR!"

Mother, Mother Ocean

Mother, Mother Ocean, I've heard you call
Wanted to sail upon your waters since I was three feet tall
You've seen it all, you've seen it all
Watched the men who rode you, switch from sails to steam
In your belly you hold the treasures, few have ever seen
Most of 'em dream, most of 'em dream
Yes, I am a pirate, two hundred year's too late
The cannons don't thunder, there's nothin' to plunder
I'm an over-forty victim of fate
Arriving too late, arriving too late

Yoda

"Size matters not. Look at me. Judge me by my size, do you? Hmm? Hmm. And well you should not. For my ally is the Force, and a powerful ally it is."
―Yoda, to Luke Skywalker

Counted the Stars

Counted the stars on the 4th of July
Wishing we were rockets bursting in the sky
Talking about redemption and leaving things behind
I have these pictures and I keep these photographs
To remind me of a time
These pictures and these photographs
Let me know I'm doin' fine
We used to be so happy once upon a time
Once upon a time
But the sun sank west of the Mendocino County Line
And the sun sank west of the Mendocino County Line

Radiator Burns. Not to be confused with Radiator Springs

On the way back from Los Angeles this afternoon........The dear old(2001) PT Cruiser had a temp issue. I finally got it over to the shoulder on the 5 freeway and popped the hood to get air through. Then I leaned into the engine compartment to get a look at the overflow reservoir. Precisely at that moment the cap popped off. I got hit with 50/50 mix somewhere above 250 degrees Fahrenheit. Upper left arm and lower right arm got hit, rather heavily. And a few little other spots. But for some reason the stuff that hit my face was thinned and therefore cooled. And wearing spectacles didn't hurt in that department either.
The Paramedics from the LA County Fire Department arrived about the time a tow truck did(AAA comes in handy!) They said that from the time it actually happened till they checked me out I had fared well. About like a really severe sunburn. REALLY SEVERE. But only one blister.
After getting the car into a shop and a rental, we headed home. Stop at Walmart in Lancaster to get some medical type supplies. Gauze in the four inch wide roll and some super duper tylenol. The Missus had some burn cream left from her burned toe adventure last December. Things are looking good right now. Should tomorrow bring any difficulties, it will be off to the High Desert Medical Group in Lancaster for treatment. It is an anytime kind of operation. And they take Tricare!
BTW the visit in LA for The Missus went well. I can't actually tell you what it was about, yet. But eventually, she will be much better off after a certain procedure.
And lunch at In and Out Burger was da bomb!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Glad the lunch was da bomb - just wish the radiator wasn't! Here's hoping you have a very speedy recovery!!!

Ow. Take care of yourself, have a beer or three and watch the Habs beat Philly. 0-0, halfway through the first.

Jeff-I love In and Out Burger. Basic, honest, filling and tasty. The big one is the only burger I do not use ketchup on.
Buck-It is getting better. I have a shot of the left arm on face book. Nurse Snigs is giving me medical advice. I will go and get some St Pauli Girl or Moosehead or Fat Tire later. Gotta get past the thirst part from the burn. I remember that from basic first aid training aboard ship and the Boy Scouts.
But thanks for the concern. I do appreciate it, greatly.

Sounds like you have things under control. Please give Sharon my love, too, glad to hear improvements are coming - whatever they may be!

Hope you are both on the way to a speedy recovery.
