I have been messing around, as it were. Blogger has come up with some new templates and backgrounds. Also got a different shot of my jet. Over the desert, with things that go BOOM on it. I figured since I live out here in the Mojave Desert, I would try a desert theme and such.
So, one and all, let me know what ya think out there.
Looks great! The desert theme is nice and your jet looks good with live ordinance and conformal fuel tanks ;-)
ReplyDeleteAnd now it is sitting in the barn. Last time it flew we found a bolt sticking out of the exhaust ring panel's number two drain hole. Got a new engine and next week we will do all the checks and stuff to get it back in the air.
ReplyDeleteLooks great. Got a question not knowing the background; How did you obtain your jet? That is so awesome and am really curious.
ReplyDeleteAs always, Thank You for your service!
Christopher,
ReplyDeleteThe Supervisor assigns crew chiefs to each airplane. And there is one per shift. The day shift guy is the primary dedicated crew chief. I work days and the boss said this one was mine. Basically a crew chief is a general airplane mechanic for the airframe/airframe systems, power plant/fuel systems.
We also do the normal inspections and launch/recover the airplane.
Being an Aviation Structural Mechanic, Hydraulics in the Navy helped get the job as being 30 percent service connected disabled.
Pretty good for a fifty five year old Grandfather!
Those are blue rounds, ain't they? So they go "pop" rather than BOOM. ;-)
ReplyDeleteNice pic of your jet. I've mentioned this before, but I miss the Lawn Darts out at Cannon. The 130s just ain't the same.
More like Thud! Mass at speed!
ReplyDeleteUnderstood and thank you.
