Elaborate, $2.6 million model aircraft carrier donated to Naval Academy
Some of The Lexicans had this linked all over Facebook Monday and Tuesday. It is now the wee hours of my Regular Day Off and I am enjoying Red Eye and Firestone Walker 805...............It seemed like a good idea for a post....................
"The 84-year-old craftsman, who made his first model from cardboard in the late 1930s, has donated to the Naval Academy his magnum opus: a 12-foot, 3,600-pound, brass model of the USS Forrestal."
This is one really bitchin machine! The Stuff Works on it!
Having served on two Forrestal Class Ships, this one is kinda special.
Perhaps OldAFSarge, Christopher Goodrich will get some pictures should he venture down the Atlantic Seaboard to The Trade School on The Severn.............................
More outstanding pictures and the full story at the link below.
