My Good Bye To The Exile In Portales

I broke out the Kippa and Tallit..................It was important to me that I do this.
I said the Kaddish from The Prayer Book For Jewish Personnel Of The Armed Of The United States.
This Prayer Book belonged to my Dad and I wear his Kippa and Tallit.
I bought a good cigar and a bottle of The Glenlivet.............
Buck's Sons, Commander Pennington and Major Pennington toasted with a 15 year old single malt and I used a 12 year old one. It is my favourite scotch.
The Lexicans all understand this..................

Here's to you my dear friend. Someday.....at Fiddler's Green
A couple of poignant goodbyes from two of us who were mentored by Buck had excellent fairwells as well
The Candle-Chant du Depart

Buck Pennington touched many of us with his humor and his ability with the written word and his penchant for perfect grammar..............................

  1. It was on your blog that I first read of Buck's passing.
I can't remember exactly where his (blog)path and mind first crossed, but we became fast friends and through his blog I was introduced to many others.

  4. I had to Charles. It was the right thing to do in honor of our friend.
I did have the same problem with dust all day.

  5. It was one year ago today... I've spent many a night and day thinking about my relationship with my father and how I wished I had spent more time with him. I wished we had lived closer... wished he had some family that lived closer. I'm comforted by the fact that my father had so many wonderful friends to share his passions with. Thank you for being part of his life.
