I read Catch-22 for the first time some 46 years ago. I was in the 8th grade at Kaiserslautern American High School.
The one line in this novel has had an affect on me since then. That was "And Snowden lay dying in back."
To this day, I have no idea why it still does.
Yossarian is my literary hero. I first read "Catch-22" on the beach in Beautiful Sinop By the Sea in 1971. The book was "old" by then, but it was new to me. I still love it.
