California Political Review: How California lost it's mojo.

Pretty good piece here. It is of  interest as I live here, ya know.
I admit that it is a good place to live and work for the most part. All kinds of things to see and do within a few hours drive of where I do live.
But it has been hammered lately. I admit that I am lucky being a DOD employee.
But hit the link and have a read...........................
Make up your own mind as always.
How California lost it's Mojo from California Political Review.

  1. I read Bill Watkins article, Chief. The data is good, but the analysis is incomplete, and actually sophomoric.

Not once in this piece does Dr. Watkins mention politics: the very reason that California has lost it's mojo.

And this guy is an economist, and he misses the very answer as to why that mojo went away: the economic principle of elasticity.\

Without going into mind numbing theory on elasticity, basically liberal politicians in CA have promised to take the seemingly never ending taxes confiscated from entreprenuers who love the weather so much that they will put up with nearly anything, and give this legally confiscated booty to the downtrodden in exchange for votes.

They assumed that the hard working entreprenuers would never leave, no matter how much they were squeezed, because of the weather (the ignoring of the pain of excess taxation could be described as inelastic). And accordingly, the liberal politicians could stay in power forever.

    WRong.

It had to reach a point, where even aboriginal Californian entreprenuers would say enough is enough, I'll miss the sunshine, but I'm moving to Fargo or Boise.

And that time is now. Nowhere in that article is this undeniable and obvious truth.

That professor is a liberal idiot, who can't see the forest for the trees, Chief.
