Banning Food Trucks And Man Camps Is Creating A Development Bubble In Western ND

I found this little tidbit at Say Anything Blog from North Dakota.
Western ND is sort of an old stomping ground when I was on the ballast trains and our most esteemed Blog Bud Buck Pennington when he was in the Air Force.
There is an oil boom in places like Williston, Minot, Stanley and other little hamlets along the Glasgow Subdivision and US Route 2.

  1. One year, three days, eight hours and ten minutes. Memorable, it was.

I have a friend I was stationed with back in the NoDak days who moved back there last year. She's living in her office while her employer builds a mother-in-law addition to the building for her (the girl is the editor of a small-burg newspaper). My friend tells me it's quite the Wild West there now and I'd love it... but she can HAVE it. Once is enough. ;-)

  2. In early 2007, I worked my ballast train from Williston to Glasgow. After I left the Tie Gang showed up and filled the Travel Host motel. It is the biggest one there. I wound up staying in the Super 8 at a elevated rate!
