The Planes on Poles at NAS Lemoore

Took a spin over the mountains to the Central Valley today. Got me a pair of boots for work. I get reimbursed for them by the Air Force. Picked up a little swag and shot these pics.

The A model Hornet that is mounted is next to the intersection right inside the main gate with lousy access. Perhaps next time.

  1. I've always loved planes on sticks. We had a Spitfire as a "gate guard" (that's what the Brits call 'em) at RAF Uxbridge and every once in a while I'd go down and do a walk-around, just for the Hell of it. That plane wasn't on a stick, though. It sat right inside the main gate at the head of the parade ground, on its landing gear. And it was awesome.

    Nice pics!
