Springtime in Kansas

As most of you may have seen and heard on the news, Wichita got hit fairly hard this past weekend.
A large EF-3 went through the SE and E parts of the city. The Air Refueling Wing at McConnell AFB flew the tankers to Ellsworth in South Dakota.
Spirit, Boeing IDS and Hawker Beechcraft all had damage at their facilities. A mobile home park was pretty much leveled.....
We have two of our kids and their families in Wichita. This was cause for concern. All are safe and well.
The link is to a photo essay on The Eagle website. 78 photos of the damage.

  1. I'm glad everyone is OK.

I used to HATE springtime in Oklahoma City. Have you ever held your breath for two and a half years?

  2. McConnell got hit a few years ago---nearly hit the Boeing plant across the way from McConnell. I was down there a week later and the devastation was astounding.

Living here in "Tornado Alley" you get used to the weather---and have weather radar apps on our smart phones. We have learned to always track storms heading our way.
