Google May Come To The Rescue Of Historic 'Hangar One'

This was up at AirPigz today.
This is the biggest hangar that I know of. It should be preserved as a National Historic Treasure at least. But if the rich boys at Google keep it going, that is all right by me. A lot of Patrol Squadron guys know that place.

Hangar One was built in the 1930's and once housed the USS Macon, the 784 foot long US Navy airship built by the Goodyear-Zeppelin company. Moffett Field is also home to the awesome Farmers Insurance Zeppelin NT airship.

  1. Good on Google. I remember first seein' Hangar One as a teen-ager livin' in San Jose in 1960. It was awesome then and it's awesome now.
