It does work............so far, anyway.
There is some chatter and scuttlebutt on whether this will ever enter service. But I will not add any conjecture here. It is simply a cool thing to watch. I saw three of the first Harriers land aboard USS Guadalcanal at Pier 12, NAVSTA Norfolk, Virginia in the spring of 1974. The Harrier had development issues as well.
