Scheduled for the 18th. Pre op checks including an EKG and chest picture need to be done sometime next week. All of this is in Bakersfield at the San Joaquin Community Hospital.
The good thing is that it is a Laproscopic procedure now a days. Still under general anesthesia but in and out on the same day. We will have to spend the night in Bakersfield, again but just the one.
And the BP is hanging in around the upper 130s-lower 140s over the mid 80s since the I started the medication. The follow up with my doc is Thursday morning and then I have a Renal CT that afternoon to check the plumbing at the remaining kidney.
The Laproscopic procedure is the best part, eh? Good luck with all the testing, Glenn.
ReplyDeleteI had the EKG and stress test too. Mine wasn't laproscopic. I've a 3" scar now but the experience overall wasn't bad. Son-in-law had laproscopic surgery last week to remove his gall bladder. He's recovering too but seems to be a bit slower than I did. Well, people vary.
ReplyDeleteI was in at 8AM and home by 1PM. The worst part of all was the ride home. I swear I felt every bump and wrinkle in the road!
Final word---recliners rule!
Buck, it most certainly is! On the way home that afternoon/early evening. It was also how the kidney came out, well was disconnected anyway. The exit required a rather substantial incision. Remember, I posted a picture of it!
ReplyDeleteCrucis, I had both the EKG and the Chest Xray done three weeks ago or so. But they need to be with in a month of the surgery date. They will be out of limits.
Supposed to be in and out in one day.
And again, I thank you for your concern, my friends.
