Tanking, Naval Aviation Style

Buck got me thinking with a neat shot at his place. So here is a really old one, circa 1980-1981 embarked in the Good Ship USS Ranger CV61 as a member of Attack Squadron One Four Five, The Swordsmen.
Note, this is a scan of a print that is around thirty years old. It has discolored over the years. Taken with a Yashica TL Electro 35mm. I forget what the lens was. I got rid of it a few years later.
Buck at Exile in Portales has a really neat shot of a KC-135 refueling an AC-130 over his location. Go on over and check it out. The link is over on the right.

  1. Didn't the Yashica Electro 35 come with the lens fixed on the camera? I shot a lot of good pictures with a Yashica and right up until I dropped it it worked great. I got mine in the nam. Some PX worker probably put it our too early and the Colonels were still in their rack. It was right next to the Seiko watch I bought. Dang near wiped me out but I had been out in the firld and had no where to spend that filthy (and wet and mouldy) money. MUD

  3. MUD, the TL Electro was and interchangeable lens camera. I had three plus a doubler and several filters. Wound up in the divorce thing after the said deployment referred to in the picture.
    Buck. Any Time!
