Summer. Here. Now.

If you scroll down to the bottom of ORPO to my weather thingie, you will notice that it is a balmy, pleasant 103 degrees! Tomorrow it is forecast to hit 105. The flight line should be interesting to say the least. Concrete. Reflecting. Got a large water bottle. We have two flyers for sure. One of them is mine. I would prefer the early one but my jet is on the schedule and it is a later go.
Hot. Desert Wind. Hot.

  1. Keep cool out there, Glenn! I feel your pain - we're supposed to really warm up soon, too ;-)

  2. Spent one August at Fort Irwin. I spent a lof ot that time as a safety officer with a 175 Gun Battery training for Vietnam. Drank more water than I could believe possible. Then a shower, a short nap and Beer. Great life of a single young officer in the desert.

  3. The last thing my Ol' Man told me before I left for Lackland was "stay away from airplanes." And he was right: there's NO such thing as a comfortable flight line, it's either too hot or too cold, and sometimes it's both, in the same day.

But God love ya for what you do. Someone has to do it... I'm just glad it ain't ME.
