Happy Hour

"IF A LIFETIME CAN BE LIKENED TO A DAY, THEN THIS IS HAPPY HOUR!"
BUCK PENNINGTON

Mother, Mother Ocean

Mother, Mother Ocean, I've heard you call
Wanted to sail upon your waters since I was three feet tall
You've seen it all, you've seen it all
Watched the men who rode you, switch from sails to steam
In your belly you hold the treasures, few have ever seen
Most of 'em dream, most of 'em dream
Yes, I am a pirate, two hundred year's too late
The cannons don't thunder, there's nothin' to plunder
I'm an over-forty victim of fate
Arriving too late, arriving too late

Yoda

"Size matters not. Look at me. Judge me by my size, do you? Hmm? Hmm. And well you should not. For my ally is the Force, and a powerful ally it is."
―Yoda, to Luke Skywalker

Counted the Stars

Counted the stars on the 4th of July
Wishing we were rockets bursting in the sky
Talking about redemption and leaving things behind
I have these pictures and I keep these photographs
To remind me of a time
These pictures and these photographs
Let me know I'm doin' fine
We used to be so happy once upon a time
Once upon a time
But the sun sank west of the Mendocino County Line
And the sun sank west of the Mendocino County Line

The new health care plan makes for rather strange allowances, it does.
I sincerely hope every low life, shit sucking, maggot ridden demcommmie gets voted out on Tuesday and then tarred and feathered upon return to their home districts.

NFL is a Reid Supporter. Slugs and Thugs.

NFL gives money to Harry Reid.

This is up at Michelle Malkin. Go. Read it.
For all you fans of the No Fun League.
I quit watching it back in the nineties. I haven't seen a game since December of 1997.
But as most of you know, I am a hockey fan.
But the scum at the NFL has decided to toss it's hat into the ring, for a low life, lying, corrupt politician.

F/A-18F Super Hornet of Strike Fighter Squadron One Two Two, Naval Air Station Lemoore, CA.
The scheme is the same used on the new Navy Working Uniform. The sea service's version of the BDU/ACU or what ever they are calling it these days.
It is also the airframe that is commemorating the Centennial of US Naval Aviation. That will be May 8 of next year. Sorry Air Force, your roots are in the Army Signal Corps. And the Royal Navy Fleet Air Arm is the second oldest after the Royal Air Force.

Flu. Sucks.

I feel horrible! Started on Thursday. Nagging low grade fever. Then chills. This morning went and got donuts for the Missus ORPO and me. Had two twists. Made a pot of coffee here at the Casa de Sharon y Glenn in Cal City. Had one cup.
Chills. Felt like I was in a cold locker. Then wringing wet. Sleep awhile, wake up, sleep a little, wake up wringing wet.
And so it goes.

Challenge Coin

Got this from a kid who was doing his  Naval Air Reserve thing this past weekend at NAS Lemoore.
VFA-125 is the Legacy Hornet Fleet Replacement Squadron. Effective 1 October it was folded into VFA-122, the Super Hornet FRS.
125 had been in business for thirty years. Yeah, when I was still in my first A-6 squadron.
Jesse sort of owed me for a launch and recovery of the 416 CO on a Saturday that was for a funeral fly over. It was scheduled to be mine but he wanted to do it. He got a major atta boy for it. I told him a twelve pack of Fat Tire, Saint Pauli Girl or Pete's Wicked Ale.
This was way better.
And so the Rough Raiders pass into history. I went through the Flying Eagles twenty five years ago on my way to VA-147. 122 was referred to as Corsair College in those days. A-7E Corsair II.
For some of you.......................age give away!

THE PRESIDENT IS LOSING IT

It will give you pause for thought. Trust me on that one.

THE PRESIDENT IS LOSING IT

Go to this link. It is on Stormbringer. It will give insight into the workings of the current occupant of 1600. It is scary. But read, digest, ponder.

Priceless! A different view point

I swiped this from Melissa on Face Book. She got it from Elizabeth. Speaks volumes when it comes to character.

New Jet

This is my new jet. F-16AM, 80-3666. I was assigned to it last week. I got to launch it once!
As soon as I get name tapes made, I will have them on and will get some pictures of it.

Pirate's Cove

Cap'n Teach has a good one for all to read. It hits home with the attitude of the man-child in chief and his enablers. We are not very smart. Think it is time to send those congress critters who have been in his pocket home...............to a rocking chair in the case of most of them. Where they can no longer cause major damage to our Republic.

Deadliest Catch is coming back

This link has some of the information. No details have been released.
But with out Sig, Johnathon and Andy, the show just isn't.
The link will take you there.
Deadliest Catch is coming back!
There was some serious animosity but it seems to have been taken care of. And there is a spin off with the Hillestrand Brothers supposedly in the works.
Yeah! The Bad Boys of The Bering Sea are BACK!
And I came across a blog about the show and the Captains.

U.S. District Court Judge George Steeh ruled Thursday that the so-called individual mandate — a requirement President Barack Obama opposed during the presidential campaign but later embraced as part of sweeping changes — falls squarely within Congress’s ability under the Constitution to regulate interstate commerce.

A billy clintoon appointee now squarely in the pockets the communist trash that voted this fucking piece of totalitarianism into effect. Probably got a blow job from napolitano or even pelosi for it.
Maggot infested federal bench, anyway. His court is located in that wonderful haven of liberty, Jennifer "Slut" Granholm's Michigan. The one with Dearbornistan, the towel headed cyst of the Great Lakes.
A federal judge appointed by a man with absolutely no morals what so ever has by this destroyed individual liberty in the Republic. I say charges of Treason are in order.
And now the other slut, kathleen sibelius will be able to really make our lives a living hell. When is this shit going to end?

Got this via Hot Air. I do not read or use the site politico. They are all worthless maggots and traitors anyway.

This shit will probably send my BP back up again!

Where I bought my Truck

Didn't come with a second key. It is a used outfit. But the boy who was our sales person was supposed to find the other one. If not available he was to get us one from the Dealer. He was to do this. Didn't happen.
It is a Nissan dealership. Nissan truck.
Valley Hi Nissan in Victorville. Shitbirds. Liars. Scum.
Told me my registration fees and such were to license the truck to October of next year. Got the registration today. It expires on 31 March of next year. State law thing. I paid for April to September while it was either someone else's or on the lot. This I blame on the maggots and faggots in Sacramento. Period. The descriptive stands. It is California after all.
Valley Hi Nissan. Victorville, California. Do not go there. Do not give them any business. And if you live in the people's socialist, fairy loving, welfare, screw the real americans of Kalifornistan, make sure the legislature has an entirely new make up. And no moonbeam. No Meg. Vote for Chelene Nightingale.

And I do like my "new" truck. It does what I require of it.

Worker's Paradise.....Lost

Hawker Beechcraft and The Union

The above link will take you to an article in the Wichita Eagle. It has to do with an aircraft manufacturer possibly leaving town. One that has been there since the beginning.
Just two years ago, I went to work there. It was just after a strike by the IAM&AW employees.
Seems that unions and their members are now in the position of having to make concessions. Ones that would be very significant, like keeping the company they work for in town.

Surgery

Scheduled for the 18th. Pre op checks including an EKG and chest picture need to be done sometime next week. All of this is in Bakersfield at the San Joaquin Community Hospital.
The good thing is that it is a Laproscopic procedure now a days. Still under general anesthesia but in and out on the same day. We will have to spend the night in Bakersfield, again but just the one.
And the BP is hanging in around the upper 130s-lower 140s over the mid 80s since the I started the medication. The follow up with my doc is Thursday morning and then I have a Renal CT that afternoon to check the plumbing at the remaining kidney.

Babs. The Outsource Queen

Stolen from Free Will.
Hmmmmmm?

The Investors' Business Daily offers the quick free trade argument against Barbara Boxer who has been making a great deal of hay over GOP rival Carly Fiorina's having "outsourced California jobs" by laying off 30,000 people at H-P. According to IBD, Fiorina is a piker compared to Boxer:
Sen. Barbara Boxer thinks she's struck election gold in California by charging her rival, ex-CEO Carly Fiorina, with outsourcing. The real story is how Boxer has chased millions of jobs out of state with her politics.
Last Wednesday's radio debate between California's two senatorial candidates repeatedly circled the issue of jobs in a state with 12.4% unemployment, second highest in the nation.
Incumbent Boxer's trump card was that her opponent, while chief of Hewlett-Packard from 1999 to 2006, outsourced jobs. "She laid off 30,000 workers, shipped jobs overseas and says she's proud of her record — well, that's her record," said Boxer.
Problem is, Boxer is a far bigger outsourcer. The unemployment rate in her state is 25% higher than the national average of 9.4%, and the number of jobless Californians is 66% higher than when she took office 17 years ago. Her 90% liberal voting record based on National Journal data has much to do with it.
As IBD points out, Boxer has consistently supported job killing legislation, whether the stimulus, the increase in the corporate tax rate, and especially all of the "green" legislation/regulations that have choked off California's manufacturing base, from cars to silicone chips to surfboards. All true, but God forbid we would ever hear this from the state MSM, let alone Fiorina herself. For whatever reason, voters and reporters can understand the ill effect of laying off thousands of workers, but can't begin to comprehend the political climate that created the incentives for those losses in the first place.

Ebay vs. Moonbeam

Seems that old AG moonbeam is ahead of Meg Whitman in the CA governors race. The media out here is touting the Social Security letter to Meg about the housekeeper. It noted a discrepancy. That is all. And it also indicated that if the employee was summarily terminated, the employer could face charges of discrimination.
Meg did not fire the woman until she, the housekeeper, admitted to being in this country illegally. That is complying with the law.
Then the mouthpiece lawyer of the left, one gloria allred gets into the mix. This puts the housekeeper directly in view of the entire Immigration mechanism. And there is a distinct possibility that governor/attorney general moonbeam had a hand in this. I said a possibility. Conjecture now enters the mix. For myself, I don't think jerry brown has an honest bone in his body.
As for me, I figure the only major thing jerry brown has ever done is have Linda Ronstadt as his trophy girlfriend in 1976 when he finished third behind jimmy carter and gary hart? for the democratic nomination for president. Yeah, I do remember. Very Well.
On a side note. I haven't seen any recent data on Carly vs. Babs. We all know that Babs has to go.
But it appears that in most cases in the midterms, we have a choice. That being the lesser of two evils. Food for thought.

Mike Rowe, Dirty Jobs and reality (fixed link)

Hit the link below
Mike Rowe on Work and "Dirty Jobs."

Blatantly borrowed from "Talking to myself again." Maybe a bit long at 20 minutes but it is well worth it. Done on TED.com.
Funny as Hell.

In the Thousands. Thousands they say!

Got this from my friend Melissa. The top is of the Beck Rally on August 28. The lower is of yesterday's obama/commie/union rally.

Seems that the drive by, suck up to The Won Media and their enablers deemed that the turnout was at least, on par with the Restore Honor Rally.
There were  4000? buses loaded with all kinds of devoted supporters. Such as the SEIU, American Communist Party, The Progressive Democrats and the like.

There are other photos out there showing the aftermath. Garbage everywhere. Can't even clean up after themselves.

And the icing on the cake? Ed Schultz was a keynote speaker.
Yeah. Right. Or in this case......so very wrong.

But draw your own conclusions folks. I already know what mine is.

I need a break

I caught a bit from our dearly not so esteemed Commander in Chief. It seems he was heard at a fund raiser or some other looney tunes get together.
It seems that it was this little tidbit.................................
"I could use a break and some Tuscan Sun or words to that effect." Hmmmmmm.
Wow! That is a good one. After how many vacations this past summer? I wonder what it would be like if he had to be back out in the real world. Trying to make a living in the dog eat dog world the rest of us are in?
And then the dog will have to travel on a separate aircraft.

New United/Continental paint job

The new hybrid scheme. I am sure that there is a graphic arts team somewhere working on a permanent one. I prefer the Continental tail over United.
